Philippine Society for Training and Development

Friends, I am happy to report that I am one of the newly elected members of the Board of Trustees of the Philippine Society for Training and Development also known as PSTD!

As a member of the Board, I will be responsible for participating in policy decision making of the society and planning and implementing its strategies.  I got two years!

I am writing this blog because I want to share my aspiration for this organization in the hope that you can join me or us in the society.

PSTD is the country's premier professional organization for training and development professionals.  I see it to be THE community where we, training professionals can converge and converse about how we can make relevant contributions not just in the world of work but in the world in general. I also see it as a great venue for those who are not yet fully confident in their training skills to build it knowing that confidence come from competence. This idea is not original. It happens everyday in Toastmasters where I am also a proud member. It happens in Toastmasters because there are mentors who volunteer to help individuals find their voice on the platform.

This is what i think PSTD needs to be; a community of mentors and proteges, of people who are as willing to share as they take, a rich source of information on anything that has to do with human resource development from design, delivery to management. I want a community of engaged training professionals. I was told that I will be heading marketing which I believe is a perfect position to pursue this agenda.

Training friends, I know you are out there. I also would like to include my social media expert friends who also delve into training. Let this serve as a notice that I will pursue you and ask you to join and help. Let us round up all the training professionals in the Philippines and get them to participate in strengthening this society.
